If they are like the 216 and 218 flex-heads with the dial-a-matic float they are awfully nice. Good heads, probably the nicest thing on an older John Deere combine.

Rick, you need to do some business with a few PA machinery jockies. Buy "em for $50. Sell to jockey for $500, he"ll bring "em here and sell "em for $1800-$2000. This is where all the 4400-4420 combines have come. New machines are just too big to get in a lot of places, and we can"t do without combines. What"s going to happen to us when the old ones are worn out beyond repair I don"t know. Can"t get enough acres through a big one around here to pay for it, even if you could get it down the roads. No such animal as custom cutters, either.

Here in middle southern MN same thing - you have to run into one, but they have little value - everybody is working with 8 row combines, no need for a small bean head, no one wants....

There is a very popular bi-monthly farm paper in this region, 'The Land', they have a web site with their classifieds online. might want to watch them.

Agreed- saw one last fall for about $100. Amazed, always a good head, but just no demand now. Everyone wants 20 foot or more, dialamatic, etc. (Hey- where you been lately? haven't seen many of your enjoyable posts)
