Andrew,

I saw your post on my question on subsoilers...you're down in Scott Co., and I'm up east in Greenup Co. If you know anybody down in that country that has quit rasing tobacco and has a Farmall cultivating tractor with a side dresser for sale, I'd like to hear about it. I haven't found anything but junk up this way.

The one in Winchester is a big one, usually there is a whole lot of equipment and its in pretty good shape. I know that in Clark County there have been a number of farmers that have gotten out of Tobacco, so you might find what your looking for!

That's funny somebody asked me the other day if I knew of anybody that would sell a Super C with sidedressers. The best thing I can tell you is to hit a couple auctions in this area if you feel like you're up for the drive. There should be one coming up in Paris pretty soon but I don't have any info on it, it's usually pretty good sized. There's also a sale coming up on March 4 at the Horse Park in Lexington, it's pretty good sized they run two auctioneers in it. This Saturday is a sale in Winchester, at the fair grounds I think, never been to it. The one in Paris and in Lexington usually have a fair amount of tobacco equipment (setters and cultivating tractors) there, granted they are consignment sales and some stuff is just junk. That's my .02.

Elton,

Yeah, I'd be interested. Send me and [email protected]. The only thing I honestly expect is that the machine was no stranger to a grease gun, had the oil changed at least once (hehe) and was kept in the barn. What I have looked at here in Greenup, Carter and Bath counties, have been held together with baling wire and duct tape and look like they have always set out in the weather. I know where a 130 is setting and has gone to ruin..and it was a nice tractor probably 3 years ago. The side dresser hopper was left half full....it has since rotted off, the exhaust pipe came off for whatever reason and the intake has been drinking rain water....it was just allowed to go to hades (can't say sin words here at church). Of course the old geezer who has it, still thinks it's worth a fortune. His kids will scrap it when he dies.
