EZ Flow spreader

Will a true EZ Flow brand spreader spread wet lime? I'm talking about lime straight from the quarry, not mechanically dried lime. Most drop spreaders are not built heavy enough to handle lime, but the EZ Flows seem to be. They can be bought quite cheap at farm auctions, but would I have trouble with lime bridging or otherwise not coming out of one very well?

wide open at 5 mph will get you close to 3 ton per acre.good luck.

James if the spreader you are talking about is the one I think you are it holds about 1000 lbs.
Here in Iowa when we lime we put on two to three tons to the acre.
If you have many acres I think you would get sick of filling the spreader.
Also I don't think you can put that much on in one trip.
I'm with charlien just let the big rigs spread it.
Maybe the spreader is differant than the ones I've seen.
If it is I may be all wet.

IF YOU CAN GET IT AS THEY CRUSH IT IT WILL SPREAD.IF IT GETS WET IN THE PILE FORGET IT.I FOUND OUT THAT ITS'S EASIER TO CALL THE LIME SPREADER.THE SREADER I HAVE MAINLY SETS IN THE SHED THESE DAYS.IF YOU NEED CALIBRATION INFO LET ME KNOW.I HAVE A MANUAL.GOOD LUCK.

If you would show us the chart for setting it that would be great. I have one and would like to put out some lime here on about 2 acres and it is not enough room for the trucks to get in and out so planning on doing it my self. Got a extra shovel, any volunteers? Thanks
