On your blueberry question. In Berrien county they begin to ripen on/about July 4. The peak is around the end of July. I'm partial to Blueray and Bluecrop. Nice big berries and a good flavor. These come in about the end of July. For a contact I've had good luck with Krieger Wholesale Nursery. Phone 269-465-5522. They grow them and sell the berries also. They are located in Bridgman on Gast Road. They have a web site (for the nursery stock) WWW.kriegersnursery.com

Hope this helps. Always like to have agri tourists visit. If you time it right you may be able to combine the blueberry trip with a visit to the youth fair (in Berrien Springs) in early Aug.

There are a whole lot of blueberry farms all along the west coast of Michigan. They rippen in later July and early August. Call any of the Michigan State University, cooperative extension offices for the western counties - Berrian, Van Buren, Ottowa, Muskegon, Oceana, Allegan, Grand Traverse, Branch etc.
