OK. Baler is a NH Super 78 with Wisconsin. Got plenty of truck to haul this thing. Ford F-250 7.3 diesel and I WILL have brakes on the trailer while doing this. I'll have to haul this thing a good ways. No way to pull it. I don't think the police would appreciate me pulling it down I-10. I'm thinking rent something like a car carrier. You know, one of those flat trailers with no sides and wood floor. I've seen them around. I'll make sure it can handle the weight. Anyway, load it sideways on the trailer. Got that part figured out how to do that. I know the tongue will have to come off but will I have to pull off the bale chute also to be legal in width? Anyone know about how long it'll be. No thrower/kicker. Thanks,
mee

put good tires on it and grease the wheel bearings and pull it home. If its hooked to your truck with the pin hitch it is an IMPLEMENT OF HUSBANDRY, if its on the trailer and its to wide its a TICKET. Unless you want to buy the wide load permits and the head aches. I would maybe find some more rims and put road tires on it if you have to go far and roll on.

When I purchased my ni cornpicker I towed it right up I70 and did same with a baler AND a wagon. Best to tow them less hassle. just be sire to check the tires and wheel bearings before goin to far

tow it home once you load it on a trailer then the DOT will get on your case if it's over 8ft. 6in. ALL kind of permits are in order. i pulled a baler over 450 miles one day and never got looked at but we hauled a 9ft. disk home on a trailer[ no permits] and got stoped two times in 80 miles both cops said we should be pulling it. use your SMV sign and go

Thanks everyone. I'm going over there prepared for anything and I'll put a tape measure to it. Probably end up doing like you guys suggest and backing it on the trailer, chain it down and go.
Thanks again guys,
mee

You could possibly hang both tires over the side, maybe take them off and just l;eave the hubs over the edge, I don't think there is really anything underneath that could be damaged if it sit's on it's belly on the trailer. It would still be a little over width, but i suppose if you tell Mr. Ociffer it's either that or tow the baler it'self. I've seen plenty of them being hauled from auction that way, haven't ever seen one pulled over.

The store didn't completely thrill me either, but there is a certain conveinience factor in having them only about 5 miles away from my place. Where are you from? I live just off of KK on 55, towards Kaukauna. Big yellow barn, can't miss it.

third party image

I usually visit Vanderloops atleast 1 time a month during the season getting parts and such for our 165 and 285. They are also the guys we bought our 1755 (blown engine) then the 1855 from. The 1855 is a great runner. My 1600 is coming along really nice. My brother and put the decals on the side panels today, and only have the hydra power decals left on the hood. Then I can start peiceing the final details back together.

When I say "how long it will be" in the post above, I guess I'm asking how wide it would be going down the road since it's on the trailer sideways.
Thanks
mee

Not Sure but even with the tougue and the chute off I think you will still be too wide. You would have to take the chamber with the knotters also to make to 8'.

What if you back on at a angle to get both wheels on the 8'wide trailer and the chamber hanging to ditch side.

I would be concerned about the width, the JD 14T we have is pretty much a full 8 feet wide and I imagine that baler is similar.

Finding a trailer you can rent that is that wide will be a challenge, it will have to be one with the deck over the wheels to get that width.
