Hello Experts! I am finishing up restoring a JD 116 side discharge wire tie baler. I have everything I need but the main drive belt on the rear of the machine. I have checked with all of the dealers here in northern IL and sourthern WI-guess what-no luck. Does anybody have a JD dealer near them that stocks older parts like this? All of the dealers have after market places that they work with and none of them have one either. The JD part number is BP10970. ANY help is greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

Try www.motionindustries.com. They've never failed me for belts or bearings. Just give them the width and length. If you could find the manufacturer's number on the top face of the belt, it would help. Their number in Terre Haute where I do business with them is 812-232-8344, but they probably have a store closer to you. Have a hundred dollar bill in your hand when you go to pick it up! Post a picture when you get it done. I grew up with one of those. Jim.

You will just have to go by size to get that belt from after market suppliers and what are you going to do for wire as the wire to fit that baler is no longer avaible, I have 2 of those balers

The wire isn't a problem, the local hardware store was able to find me some spools of wire that will work well for me. The spools are little smaller than the original ones, so I made spacers to center them on the holes they feed out of.

If that wire is what I think it is it is electric fence wire and therefore would feed off the outside of the roll and would not work in the boxes as they feed out of the center of the roll and the roll does not turn to be able to unwind from the outside and also a fence wire is to spriningy to work, to much like spring steel. The only option I have come up with is to buy a roll for the newer balers that is 5 times the size roll and build a wire reroller to roll that wire into the size of the orignal rolls or find a way to hang 4 of the big rolls on the outside of the baler, that wire cannot have any want to springback to it when you try to bend it

Leroy, This wire is available from Anthony Supply, Co. Greenville, IL 1-800-272-3395
It is the 3150 ft. rolls. They have it made up special.
