Anybody ever try to use a roller pump to transfer water? Do you think it is even possible?

Of course they transfer water- they were typical pumps on field sprayers in the 50s-60s. When wettable powders came along, and we needed more agitation and pressure, centrifugal pumps were invented. They deliver more water, and at higher pressure. If you need to move water from one place to another, you need to consider gpm and head. How much do you need to deliver in a given time span, how many feet do you need to lift it, and deliver it at what pressure? Roller pumps move fewer gallons per minute at a lower pressure, c-pumps do more of each.

I've been wondering the same thing. I just set up a 1500 gallon tank to catch rainwater and plan to use a roller pump on a gas engine to transfere it into my sprayer. It'd be nice to know if it will work before I do all the plumbing.
