Looked at a JD 7000 wide 4 row planter. It's set at 38 inch rows. How narrow can I make it?
Thanks

What I'm doing is buying a 7100. It's the 3 point version of the 7000. They bring the same price and have the same row units. To modify you only need to move brackets and cut off some of the transmission.

You need a fairly large tractor to run them. I'm gonna try a 4430 but have a 4640 if necessary. Also, you can't put fertilizer on them - at least I've never seen one with fertilizer...

I used to have a 7000 4 r.w.(6r.n. now). I think 36"is as narrow as they will go. It says in the owner's manual, if you have access to that.
