To follow up on my previous post. I went and took a look. It is a 3" bore, 10" stoke. Its collapsed pin center to pin center length is 20". Too big/long?

My 720 diesel has auto up and auto down hydraulics so I know that if I make a single mistake with the lever by not being careful, it will push the ram to max in or out. Murphys law would have that happen.

Thanks guys,

Stu

477 operator's manual says 8 inch stroke cylinder.

As others have responded, the 10 inch stroke cylinder is not the standard 8" stroke agricultural use cylinder that the 477 requires. Your 477 is locked in the transport position which means the correct cylinder configuration is about 1/2" shy of being fully extended when pinned in place exactly as it sits right now. More than likely fully extending the 10" stroke cylinder you keep referring to will damage the lift/transport lock linkages. 2.5" or 3" bore is typical depending on your tractor's pressure and flow rate.

I had a NH 467. You need a 8" stroke. 2-1/2" or 3" bore work the best. I run mine with my 620. Your 720 will play with it.
