broken peice on a massey 33 drill.

Looking at a massey drill and seen this peice that is broken.I was wondering if anyone has some insight what it is and how much trouble it will be to find and then to replace.It looks as tho it has been used with it broke for some time.Heres a link to the pics,the first three pics are the drill.One is ofthe broken piece laying on the rail ,its a ring that goes around the shaft in the other picture.Its broke in half and just hangs there.It must have something to do with engaging the shaft but the drill must still work without it.

Ok, If you've bought it - check e-bay for parts manuals (they're cheap) and look it up - that drill's mechanics are very simular looking to the John Deeres of the time if I am not mistaken, that piece engages the jackshaft to start the feed cups. its like part of a gear throw out...I can't remember exactly but thats what it looks like- I was looking at one too once before I bought my JD FB but I rarely see one of those in Ohio.

No I havnt bought it yet.Hoping the peice is still available.If your standing at the hitch looking at the drill the broken peice is on the right,the left side has one and there are two more in the middle of the shaft.

Ok I just checked my FB manual - and its part of a throw-out gear clutch (I am using my Deere as an example because how close the two look visually.)

If I were you, I would find your closest AGCO dealer and visit him and ask him to look up the parts manual - I once did that and its under Tillage. I hope this helps maybe someone else has one that they can be more of a help. Chances are that drill was made by a different company and repainted MF Red and decaled - if you can find out who made it you can probably get a better grasp at parts availablity.

Hey thanks.Throw out clutch describes it good.I knew it had to engage or disengage.Calling my massey dealer today and see where it takes me.
