I cannot remove the stump pan from the center section of a 315 bushhog (need to replace seals). I have tried everything including ideas from this site. I wanted to know if I remove the 6 bolts on the bottom of the gearbox and then lift off the main part of the gearbox, could I take off the nut on the top of the output shaft and let the shaft, lower bearing and stump pan fall out the bottom? Then I think I could separate the pan. Thanks.

I know nothing about a 315 gearbox, but would guess it won"t come out through the bottom.
