They mount towards the pick-up side of the bale chamber so the pulley on the engine lines up with the flywheel. You need an idler pulley so you can get the belts tight enough to turn the flywheel. Pull the springs off that came with the pto shaft.
Good spot for gas tank is in front of the knotters

I see no one else has suggested this, but you could try to find someone looking to convert their engine baler to PTO and either trade parts or the whole machine....
Donovan from Wisconsin

PS.... Which model Ollie is it? Some could be equipped with PTO after market...

I've used an engine-driven JD baler for over 30 years. It has a 2-cyl Wis about 14-16 hp mounted on the front with a flat belt going to the flywheel. If you don't have a flywheel you're going to need a lot more hp. They aren't too overpowered anyway. I mounted a second engine on mine after I went to the 9' moco because the windrows were bigger and I got sick of creeping and stalling.

Go by one of those Minninite communities and see how the ones they have are set up. Some they pull with horses and some with tractors on iron.

It will cost less time and money to trade his tractor for one with live pto. Handier too.

Its not that he dont have live PTO he just dont have a PTO at all...He has a old industrial oliver with no PTO....We have a few old wisconsin engines already so we figured it might not be that bad to mount it up...he is on a budget and can really afford a different tractor at this time and there is really no one in this area to hire for small sqaures....

Do you have the 4 cylinder Wisconsin? that is what the factory used and even if you do have the engine to get all the other parts will cost as much or more than a extra tractor, do not need live pto, to pull it, you can find Farmall H's for around a Thousand dollars and the parts to convert IF you could find them (Doutfull) would cost that much. And Most of the Amish now are not using engines on the equipment but putting the engine on the forecart with pto on engine and using PTO powered equipment and use the same engine forecart for different implements
