IH rotary hoe

I"ve seen an IH rotary hoe that I think is for sale. It is the same style as the newer John Deere rotary hoes. Haven"t been able to stop and ask or look at it, but looks like a 4W/6N row. Appears to have been parked outside most of it"s life. Assuming all the bearings and spikes are good, what would one of these hoes be worth? How much do they weigh? I believe they have a loader, so I could get it loaded on a trailer. I don"t have a loader, so I don"t know how I would unload it, any ideas? Thanks for any help.

If this hoe is like the newer JD ones, then each wheel has a bearing and if it has been outside that's quite a few bearings exposed to the weather. If it was outside sitting under a melting snow bank, that's almostlike being under water. A year ago I bought a 20' newer JD hoe on an auction. It had been gone through and then stored inside, and I got it for $800 which is a little steep. It started out at $200. In Iowa a 15' (4-6 row) hoe is pretty small and there is no demand for it, so I would't go much past $100 to $150. How far away from home is it? If it's not too far and you have a fairly heavy pickup maybe you could have it set crossways on the back of your trailer and then pick it up with the three point hitch at home. Merry christmas, Jim

It should roll pretty easy. Also you MIGHT be able to take the sections apart and make it lighter. I don't think I'd go much over $100, especially if it has been setting.

Do not know model # but would suggest load it backwards then ease wheels of trlr into ditch & pull it off?
