I finally get to farm on my own!! I have been working for a local farmer for 4 years now. He lost one lease this last year and has decided to quit. He feel that he can make more money for retirement in his computer business. I will be buying most the equipment and getting leases on 1331 acres. My wife and I are so excited.

Most folks do not realize the value of farmers. Each of us requires new food tomorrow. Most other things are deferrable, but not food.

I first intended to give you advice like, don't buy new tractors or pickups, don't buy the highest priced seed, but I won't.. just go for it, and injoy.

I am in Eastern washington. We will be raising wheat, lentils, barley, and my dad and I already run cattle together. We will also be doing custom seeding.
