Did new holland make fords square balers at any time. I looked at one and thought they looked similiar.

NH never made Ford balers, but I heard New Idea did, atleast for a little while(they never marketed them under their own name for some reason). I know for a fact New Idea made their 535 mower/conditioner, and a few other peices of equipment. We had a Ford 535, and now a NI 292 which is the same thing, different color.

No Ford balers were designed by Long manufacturing in Tarboro, NC. The reason they look similar is the knotters are made by the same company.

Jerry D, I think what he is thinking about is the feeding system,the later models NH have the new rotary feed system similar to what Ford used,but I agree NH never built balers for Ford.

I was not aware that they were using that system. That feed fork works very good and is very reliable.

How is that 542 working. Did you get some pictures???
