Forks for bucket on tractor

I bought a set of forks for the bucket on my Kubota tractor. These forks are about 12" long and are seperated about 6 inches across the front of the bucket. They come in a one piece unit that is designed to clip on the front of the bucket and chains come under the bucket and hook on the back to hold it in place. It works very well but the other day I got into a brush pile and bent the forks beyond repair. Does anyone have experience making forks that will hook to or bolt into the bucket on the tractor and take some abuse? I envision using 4" wide pallet forks but can't figure out how to hook them to the bucket. Does anyone know of a company that makes something that is heavy? Any help would be appreciated. The bulldozers can sure twist that brush up when they push it.

I made forks for an AC WD with loader, using 1 1/4 inch square shaft, welded to the bucket floor. Tapered the front edge with a torch. For loaders with a dirt plate, the forks are usually slipped through an inverted U bracket on the plate, with one bolt holding the rear end of the fork. Portion in the bucket is about 2/3 of the length sticking out.

I have made pallet forks (not to attach to bucket) and it is difficult to make them strong enough not to bend. Some forks have been made by drilling 2 holes in the back 18" or so and attaching them to the bucket by drilling corresponding holes in the bottom of the bucket and fastening with bolts. Don't recommend this as the bucket blocks your view, which probably helped cause your problem. There are hay forks made of tublar steel by Leinbach(sp?) for about $400. A pallet fork with the solid bars by another company whose name I don't remember sells for about $600. The manufacturer of your loader probably makes one for between one and two thousand dollars. Google "pallet forks".
What bends this equipment is going into things at an angle. Straight in works best. FELs are not bulldozers, BTW. Notice other FELs that have been repaired because of too heavy work.
Hope this rambling helps.
