We just bought a new holland 495 12ft haybine. Was wondering if any of you guys had or have one and what good or bad points they have. Is it a pain in the a$$ to set up for transport and set up for field. Also someone told me that they plug alot because of the reel design. Thanks for any replies.

I have to agree with Allan on this. If anyone has one thats pluging a lot they don't have it adjusted correctly.
Get a manual if you don't have one already and go through all the field adjustments to make sure they are correct for what your cutting, your sickle is good, and you have the correct guards.
If you do this you will never find a better cutter. Good luck...

Hey Joe,

Grease the tongue pivot slide at the underneith zerk, use that rear PTO shaft quick disconnect with it's standpipe/carrier and lube the left rear wheel pivot along with keeping the jacks greased makes the swap a heck of a lot faster and easier.

I dunno, they are a cuttin' maniac if they have good guards and a decent sickle in em. That reel design is the best in the business if ya ask me.

Allan
