I am looking at a Gehl MOCO model 2230?? in an upcoming auction. Does anyone have an opinion on Gehl equipment in general (good or bad), potential problems to look out for on this model, I don't think this unit has had alot of field time, I think it is a Mid 80's model and hasn't been used in the last 3-4 yrs. Based on the pictures I have seen it is generally in pretty good shape
Owner says he would look into replacing the knife and has a minor oil leak at rear of hitch and a couple of small dents in auger other than that he said unit is feild ready.
Any Info would be greatly appreciated
Dave

I have a Gehl 770 and love it, its easy to maintain and make repairs on. For mine the Hershal Adams??? B+ sections work the best, the sycle is easy to remove and repair a broken section, Guards however, can be hard to find if in a pinch. Other than that, if the price is right, get it, I doubt that you'll be let down

We had a Gehl mower conditioner in the early 90's that we bought new. It was a very nice machine that didn't give us much trouble and had pretty good capacity. A big step up from our previous john deere. However it was completely worn out in 2 years. We were cutting about 700 acres 3-4 times a year with it so in its two years it covered probably 5000 acres. If this one isn't worn out and you won't use it as much as we used ours I wouldn't be afraid of a gehl if the price was right.
