I've seen pics of a Massey fully mounted rollover plow. Does anyone know the model #? Were type N bottoms available?
thanks,

Hi Jim,

Don't know 'bout 'em ever makin' a rollover (I'm not that old), but I've owned their 517 spinner. Nice, easy pulling outfits.

Hi Leroy,

Must be the regional terminology thing going on again then.

A rollover in my mind is one of those old ground-hugger plows that had the left and right bottoms set at about a 45 degree angle from each other, in which you threw the lever back and forth sideways from one direction to the next? Like Allis, Ford, etc. used to make back in the late 40s or early 50s?

And then, John Deere had their 2-way plows, in which the bottoms just dropped straight down and the off-direction set stayed up.

The ones that had the bottoms pointing in opposite directions are called tumble plows, like this one.

thanks Allan and all, you guys are a wealth of information.
I surely would like to plow with one of those babies. Moldboard plowing has all but disappeared around here and I have never, never, ever seen a rollover (or spinner) in my area. I'm sure it would turn a few heads and maybe cause some accidents along the county road. hehehe

Mornin' Jim,

They are an option; around here, everyone stopped using the coulters on the high clearance models.

The IH plow I have now only has coulters on the back two bottoms to leave a clean cut.
