Anyone see the ad for that Python combine or seen one in person yet? After looking at the picture closer I could see this company just modified a Belarus combine. Looks like they made the grain tank bigger, stuck a nice JD combine cab or something on it. Plus they claim to have run most things now with hydraulic motors and made everything adjustable from the cab etc. The price in the paper they were talking about was $225,000 Cdn funds.

About 7 years ago a friend had a Belarus combine out for a demo of all things. He needed help to get his crop off before the snow came. Anyway I ended driving this thing for a couple hrs. that day. It just had a Belarus cab on it that wasn't too bad and had many odd features. But I'll give it credit it really could eat up tough barley swaths that day. It would gobble up wet piles and everthing that was kinda impressive. The threshing and cleaning part seemed to work pretty darn good in the stuff we did. It's just all the other little things that looked kinda suspect. With leaks in alot of places, poor finish and all kinds of belts and pulleys. The grain tank was way too small for the capacity of the machine and had some kind of shaker gizmo to shake the grain out of the grain tank better! That combine back then which was a model 8420 with teh same size threshing cyl. was priced at $80,000. So these guys must have really put a lot of stuff on this python to charge 225,000!

You're right, its just a highly modified Don 1500! It also seems to have a bigger V8 engine.

I wonder if the hydrualic system is Russian or if they just buy the "core" machine the Rostov plant and add to it.

I demoed two of them ten years ago, and to be as brutish as they were I will still put them up against anybodies' comperable machine. Never did sell one, but a combine wit 23' header was about 60 k back then.
