NI picker slip clutch help

I have a NI 324 / 327 2 row picker. Manual is on it's way, but not for another week....

The far right top gathering chain does not go. I took the slip clutch off, it is fine. Took off the spring, & the 2 halves of the slip clutch.

What is left on the shaft is a little plate with 3 holes for the slip clutch prongs. This plate rotates freely on the shaft, but does not come off easily. (I didn't get too rough yet...) In my mind, this plate should be the solid attachment. But there is no visible way such a thin plate would afix to the shaft.

Help?

Paul, I just looked in my 311 manual (which has the same type of clutch) and the parts breakdown shows the shaft and that piece with holes as one assembly. Probably the piece was fit tight while hot and then left to cool on the shaft making it an "almost weld". I"m not sure how I"d go about fixing it, maybe use a wire-welder of some sort, think arc welding would burn too deep into the piece and the shaft.

Ok, thanks a bunch. There was something like this on my 300 NI picker as well, a middle shaft driving the huskers I believe. I welded that years ago. Wanted to find out the propper thing now. Going to give this one the stick as well. It only drives the one chain. Thanks.

Well, got a start on the corn crib, thanks for the help Tim, my farmer weld held up for a dozen loads now. :)

Can sure pull down the 85hp 7700 on the picker when I hit the 200bu corn in the soft bottom ground with a near full wagon behind in straight 4th gear. Raised the elevator a little bit, now I have to watch that it clears the corn fast enough or have to slow down....
