I recently purchased a used plot combine. Unfortunately, the previous owner had no idea who made the machine. The link below will bring you to 5 images of the combine. If anyone has any information at all regarding this machine, I would very much appreciate you sharing it with me. Thanks,

Earl Tuson

Looks like a Hege, a German made beast. I spent several years walking along side one in graduate school. Ours was powered by a VW air cooled engine. We harvested individual 2 row plots of soybeans in canvas bags, dried the samples to uniform moisture, and weighted each sample to determine yield. Newer plot combines determine weight and moisture electronically on the go. Makes one appreciate a modern JD.

Wow, thanks David (and Paul.) The Hege 140 does look like an updated version of the machine I have, and I have found some references to a (presumably discontinued) model 125b in a google search. I will contact them to see if I can get additional information. A manual would be nice!

As I said below, I have no idea what you have. I did just come across this link, they've been making plot combines for 30 years it says, and the color is close on the new ones????? ???

The Gleaner Model K was a popular plot combine- can't see the link, but is yours a galvanized machine, like the K?

No, it is not galvanized. It has a peeling top coat of faded red, and an underlying coat of orange-red.

Hmm, I put the link where the posting page says "Optional Link URL," but apparently this did not work. Here it is:

Thanks,

I saw this combine on ebay a month ago. I remember that the ad listed the manufacturer, but I can't recall now who it was. If you'd check back to the ebay site, it'll still be there, I think.

Yes, that is where I acquired the combine. The seller had suggested it was a "Disston" combine, but I could find no reference anywhere to an agricultural machine manufacturer of that name. When I got to the site, I discovered that Disston was the name on a small toolbox that had been fixed near the operator's platform, upside down. This looks like it was added as an afterthought by a user, and certainly not the maker of the combine. On the other hand, I have since located a serial number plate elsewhere on the machine: 007 is the number.

With the 007 I would call it a Bond... James Bond.

Cute little fellow, sorry I can't help with the mfr. As to the link, did you also give it a 'Link Title' (anything, like 'my combine' or whatever) which every link needs on this web site?

Ah, no I did not. Being a first time user of these forums, I didn't realize that was required.
