I got it right out of the field.Stopped by just to see it running.Rode in it.Walked beside it,behind it and even on top of it while it was working. Ended up leaving my car there and driving it home. What a big shot I was.Driving her the 13 miles home.10 foot wide grain head, cab and all red.Drove her right into the field and combined a gravity bin full of oats. When I finally drove it past the house ,my wife was sitting on the porch reading a book, she never even looked up.I guess this is just a guy thing.Anyway,a couple questions about her (the 303).How big is the grain bin?It has 2x12's around the top.Looks like factory. How big is the motor? Six cyl. gas(at an idle you can't even hear it running when your in the cab).Is it the same as a 460 or 560?Can one still get a manual for this machine? And also, if I want to shell 1000 bushel of ear corn from the crib, can it be set it up to do this? Sorry for the long message. Thanks for any help. A.J.

That's a neat story! My manual I have here says that your 303 combine has a C-221 engine OR a BD-220 (don't have a clue what the BD-220 is). I do know the C-221 is the same engine out of a 460 Farmall. The 403/560 had the C-263 engine. Hope this helps.

About your question on shelling the ear corn, I have heard of stories of guys doing that. There was an article a few years back in Farm Show where a guy used a F gleaner and in Red Power with a 303. The guy in farm show took the corn head off i think and rigged a hopper on the throat for the corn to fall into from the elevator that came from the crib. The 303 guy may have run his corn into the center of the corn head, can't really remember. Your idea makes more sense than buying a separate sheller, since you already have the combine.
