We have a 1640 with 4 row corn head and 15ft soybean platform. It does O.K. Used to have a White 8700 with same size heads that would cut circles around it. Would buy a new one (White) if they still made them.

An R72 would eat a 2388 for breakfast and crap it out in a dung heap. LL.

Actually, Case-IH wasn't around until the mid-80s, and no longer exists. It's just Case now, a part of the Case/New Holland/Fiat bunch.

So, none of you know what you're talking about. :)

Seems a lot of people like green for it's durability & dealer network. Lot of people like Red for a pretty good, fairly simple machine. And a lot like Silver for it's ease of maintenence/repairs. All have good & bad points. I probably stated my preference on this forum at some point, but it's not really important, & doesn't bother me what any of you like. :)
