Thresher and reaper?

i am 18 and have been in to restoring old tractors for a long time, i have 2 1939 farmalls, an h and an f-20. i recently was given a horse type McCormic reaper that i plan to pull behind the farmalls. my question is what does a small threshing machiene cost and does anyone near southern illinois have one they would let go of? any advise on the reaper? thanks, adam

do you have a reaper or binder? A reaper just cuts the grain, while a binder cuts and bundles the crop. If the machine ahd elevators that carry the crop over the bull wheel, it is a binder.

Reapers are much less common than binders.

As to threshers, junk ones that have sat outside are almost free. Ones to use that have been shedded will be in the neighborhood of $500.

You will want something with 22" or less cylinder size for H or smaller tractors. McCormick Deering made threshers in that size, and also sold Belle City New Racine machines as well.

im sorry, i have a binder, i try to keep it straight, but... if anyone hears of a small thesher im my area, i would appriciate you letting me know. I am about an hour south of st louis in illinois and would not mind the drive or haul to get a goo one. Thanks again, adam
