Thats really a pretty nice looking old 403.Thanks for the pictures.I spent many an hour on a early model 403 just like yours.Ours also had no cab when Dad bought it used in 1971.

Lets us see some pictures when you get it going again. One of these days I'm going to get me a 403.

Hey, if that shedded 403 is is basically field-ready and in such fine shape, please don"t salvage that one! There"s bound to be a lot of other P?S quality-only 403"s, so we don"t have to put down a good runner.

i tend to agree but its not my call. the parts machine was days from the scrapyard when we found out about it so in a way we did save it. it was for sale for a long time and they couldnt get rid of it. they were pleased that someone could use atleast parts of it

I hear you there, but if you could, [since the 'parts' machine IS in such fine shape and is a runner] why not just set her aside, and complete the restoration of your/father's former 403. That way, you would have a terrific PAIR, even if you only need one to actually do your crops.

Combines really do best in pairs or groups, anyway. Maybe have one set up just for small grains [cereals] and the other, for corn, soys or whatever.

Too bad you're so far away. I'd love to rescue that one. It's not like we have hordes of old 403's still with us, these days.
