I recently was emailed some very interesting pictures.Did they make a galvanized 27 Massey combine?It sure looks like we have one here.I've never seen one before.

Whats everyone think?

I wonder what the serial number on it is. I bet its either a pre-production or one of the first made. Looks like my country in the back ground.

I agree... here's some production years I found a while back.

21A sp (43-49)
26 sp (48-52)
27 sp (49-52)

It could have been an early production or maybe just using up some materials... or a marketing idea/scheme that was later dropped. It has to be rare/unique though.

My guess (somewhat educated) is that it's early production. Look at the open steering column. Our 26 came that way and it was a '51 model. Dad cut it loose from the rail in front of the operator and welded about 3 inches of flat steel in to give it a little slant.
