Well not the prettiest load I ever hauled home but a first.

third party image

According to the serial number I believe it's a 1951 (ser # starts with 55). The engine turned over last spring when I found it, I did get it to turn when I got it home.

third party image
Was hoping the tires would hold air long enough to load. Back one was bad enough it wouldn't take air. Front blew just as we quit pulling it out of the weeds.

third party image

Tires on other side did hold air. I did put another tire on the back so I could steer it better to unload. Had about 3/4 of the way on one side of the trailer. Was a little nervois loading it. Seemed like the ground was a long ways down.

third party image

I have to go get another SP12 but it doesn't have any tires on it. The machine its self appears to be in much better shape.

third party image

I have another tire and whel I hope will fit so if I take these tires maybe I can get the other one home.

third party image

The other one has a reel on it versis pickup on this one. Anyone looking for parts I may have some later on down the road. Previous owner thought this one had been sitting for some time (like in early 70;s). Enjoy the pictures.

Hey 1206, i will try and get up there this week and get a picture and serial, always wondered what kind of combine it was it look so unusual. It is actually on some pastureland that is owned by a shoe store owner, if its still has an engine i might get a hold of him and se if he will sell it, before a iron man hauls it off with these higher prices. Its about ten miles from me and is close to one of my uncles farms, it has sat there as far back as i can remember.

Great Pictures in reply to caseman-d, 04-19-2008 21:04:17
Great pictures of a pretty decent old SP-12 Case.Thanks.I cant believe that you made it home with the unloading auger and clean grain auger not removed.

I'm keeping track of all SP-12's in existence so would appreciate the serial #'s and location if possible.Thanks.My email is open.I have a bet with JD 5020 Guy that there arent (100) SP-12's in existence and so far I have less than (30) confirmed.

If things work out I'll soon be heading to OK to haul home a free SP-12 Case.

Serial number of this combine is SP12G5591789 with engine serial number 550606058DE. Now a couple of years ago I purchased a combine engine from Gillete Arkansas. The guy didn't know for sure what it came out of, but pictures I had I'm positive it came out of a combine. When I get over to the other one I'll report it back also.

thanks for the pictures, there is one of those combines in a pasture not too far from me, guess i never walked over to look at it, not sure if the engine is still in it or not, didn't realize it was tucked on the right side like that. Looks like yours is complete and straight condition. One note for you when your hauling tall stuff: When we use to haul grain bins we would put a length of PVC plastic pipe against and on an angle with the direction your moving over the highest point, that way if you do bump a wire it will slide up and over the pvc rather than hooking on something. You have a yard full of neat stuff there, a dc case was the first big tractor i drove when i was a kid and it was dragging down the yard just like you have there. Also i would like to know does that combine have the same engine as a dc case?

Thanks for the reply's. Only had to haul it about 45 miles. First 22 was gravel and was getting a stiff neck as some of them power lines seemed low. Other 23 miles was hi-way and some of the roughest road home. When we lifted the header I tied around steering wheel and deck brase think it would be enough to hold it. Even ay 50 mpm it got to bouncing and pulled the wheel and brace downwards and pulled the deck in. Once home I rechained it and pulled things pretty much back into place.

Between hi-line wires over the road and trees over the road on the right side was glad road didn't have much traffic. Was about a 1/2 mile from home and met a highway patrolman. Looked like he was slowing down to turn around so I sped it up to at least get into the drive way. When I turned in I seen he had kept going. I normally use red flags but I forgot to load them. No broken power lines, no broken tree limbs and no traffic tickets. Other than taking longer to load trip went well.

Boy what a straight old machine. Looks like tires are your only problem. Look how nice that unload auger is. Good find.
