Howard H emailed me some pictures from the Texas-OK Panhandle area of what appears to be a 2890 MM combine. If its 28" wide its a 2890.If its 34" wide its a 3496.I'll let Howard tell you more.

How many on here own a 2890 MM?I know that combinechris does.

My local MM dealer Bell Tractor sold two new 2890's.I watched one of these sell for $75 last summer. It was missing the header and was in sad shape except for the engine.

Yep - pretty good looking old combine, but haven't found the header, yet...

I thought it was funny - you can see the bearing in the end of the unloading auger - it is a wood block that the shaft rotates in...

I remember the old wood block bearings on Dad's JD 105 straw walkers - worked fine, but wood bearings seem a little funny by todays standards...

This has a V-8 engine in it. I didn't know MM had ever heard of a V engine! ha...

I don't know about the MM's, but my 525 Oliver's owner's manual listed the 318 V8 as an option.

Here is a pic of the engine - Moline yellow V-8... They must have set the engine on the line when building it and then bolted everything to it - as tight as it's tucked down in there!!

We Have been trying to get ahold of a 4296 and this one looks pretty good. Please let me know if you are interested in discussing a deal on it.

Thanks

I think the 2890 was the MM version of the 525 Oliver. Used to have a 525... worst thing about it was the Carter carb.

Yep, the same combine sold in Oliver green,(they were Oliver combines) Moline gold, Cockshutt red, or later all painted red under the White Farm equipment name.

I had a 545 and a 2890 given to me by North Platte but really haven't figured out how to haul them due to weight. They both have platforms and corn heads. I also know where another 2890 is that I need to go look into.
