Roger, I recently mentioned on New Ag Talk about finding a 5297 MM or 5555 Oliver combine and got some possible leads on several located in the Dakotas and Minnesota area.

My email is open.I'm working 11 am-11pm every day at work this week so I might not get back to you until the weekend.

We are going to find you a combine.I'm guessing that there are more Olivers out there than MM's.Lets hope that the 5297 MM in northern Illinois wasnt the last one.

I bid on the drill you are talking about but didn't get it. If it's the one I'm thinking of it is a "Pony" or sometimes called a "Plow Drill". It was pulled behind a packer which was pulled behind a 4-16 plow. Sort of a one pass till and plant operation. They used them in the Dakotas in light soil to plant wheat. I bought one elswhere just days after that auction ended. I am looking for a Beet Drill made in the 30's or 40's. Steel wheels on the ends, wood box, double disk openers, 30 (?) inch spacing. They were used to plant sugar beets. There may be one on display at the show.

I'm - On the Road.

I am leaving first thing Wed. morning for the PGR Winter Convention in Scotts Bluff Neb. Will be back on Monday the 10th.

As usual I am short of cash but will get the money somehow.

I bought a U Moline LP, G 1000 Deisel Row Crop - needs motor work, MM 69 pull combine, MM Manure Spreader all local, MM Manure Spreader near Scotts Bluff and a MM Model D Corn Sheller 100 miles West of Scotts Bluff all in the last 4 days. I will post my reasons later.

Keep me informed I can figure out a way to get one home somehow.

I may have internet access in Neb. but not sure.

Thanks Roger

Roger, When you get to the MM convention look up Phil Fett from Lennox,South Dakota.Hes a MM collector and a source tells me that he knows where lots of stuff is at up his way.He may know of a 5297 MM combine.

Rumor on Phil is - he has 3 MM 5297 combines that he used to custom cut with. He is one of the people I am going to look up when I get there. I have talked to him before about MM items.

Thanks for the help. With any luck I may get some leads this week.

Roger, Good luck at the MM convention. You should be able to get some leads there. They say Phil Fett knows where all the 5297 MM's are at.If I remember right he used to tractor pull with a strong M-5 MM alky burner in the light SS class.

If nothing turns up there I have several good leads for you.Are you going to Sandbergs at Gering,NE?They have several UDLX MM's and more.I just talked to Kevin a couple of months ago.

Last I knew they had two of them one they had redone that they got from the post office from New Raymer, CO and the other came from up in the hills by Chadron and I have heard its been rolled. My dad works for Dale Sandberg which would be a cousin to Kevin.

I will be at the Banquet on Sat. night. Not sure what my plans are during the day. I have a Manure Spreader and a Corn Sheller to pickup. I am supposed to have a Beet Drill bought but not sure on that so I don't know my loading schedule yet.

I will be around sometime Sat. for the auction. I will be wearing a Black coat with the MM logo on the back and says - Ralph Bruce Implement Winfield Kansas. My father will be wearing one also. Ask, some of the people know me and can point me out.
