Check out this F Gleaner on ebay.I'll bet they meant a 292 Chevy and I doubt that they get $3000 for it.

someone told him it's a combination you combine your crop and seed the next crop as it's a rare silver seeder so that makes it worth more. and it has an even rarer 283 6 cylinder engine

Wow, I wonder if that guy drinks his bath water or something. Of course some things amaze me. The Bader and Sons inventory reduction/consignment auction yesterday there was a really beat TR85, the old style 15ft rigid top drive grain table and the old 962N6 corn head. I thought I would get the machine cheap for parts. Hahahaha. The machine sold for $3500 the corn head $1200 and the 15ft platform $800, and the platform needed a kife. That's nuts. If I would have known that I would have bought a Deere rigid for doing wheat cheaper and in better shape.

Now He Says Its Worth As Much As $20,000 In Poor Condition! in reply to Allan In NE, 02-24-2008 09:39:16
Allan, Since your's is newer and is a diesel the sky could be the limit on its value! (grin)

This guy knows very little about combines and does admit it.I saw his added note where he has done some research and F's in poor condition are worth as much as $20,000! He still thinks it has a 283 Chev.

I'm going to email him myself and I'll be nice.

It looks like my email worked in reply to 1206SWMO, 02-24-2008 11:55:33
I nicely emailed the seller giving information and provided a link to Fastline showing what F series Gleaners sell for.The description has been changed now.

The starting price was lowered to $2000 and the buy it now price is $5000,both which are still too high.At least theyve decided now that it has a 292 in it.

I wrote him too and "gently" told him what the deal was on 'em.

Think the PO just didn't want to bother with that thing so just left it for someone else to deal with.

Can you imagine what it is gonna cost to truck that old gal at today's fuel prices?

Get it home and it is still just a gasser. :>(

At least it does have AC, which I would think would be rare for that year. no way it would bring more than $600 here in ohio.

What would an F have cost brand new? Hard to believe they are going to get what they are asking. Must be some city folks just moved out to the country...

I priced a new F diesel in the fall of 1975 and loaded out with a 15 ft floating bean bar it was around $27,000 list price. When they first came out a new F gas was well under $20,000.

In the fall of 1966,Dads new E Gleaner with 13 ft head and 240 corn head was nearly $9000.

When I got my new F3 Gleaner in October 1983 it was written up as selling for $54,500 but I think it actually listed for quite a bit more.I still have the contract and I just got done looking at it.

I seem to remember a dealer telling me, sometime in the 70s, that depending how it was decked out, about $18-20,000. Not much later, the F2 was more than double that.

Well you can just get the suspence over & pay the buy it now price of 10 grand. ;)

Even get $10 back if you open the credit card account to charge in on. :)

Looks like every other gas F selling for $3-600 'round here. Didn't see the reel, corn bean machine with a grain platform? Not the best match.
