I finally got a day free to go about 40 miles to see what was going on with this All Crop that I've been driving by for about 10 years now. It has a little tree growing up through it. I pulled over and was greeted by a young fellow, Brian, I think. He seemed about 16 or so.

I asked him if it might be for sale. He said,"I can ask my Dad. Nobody has gone near it in years. If he sells it, I'll cut the tree out for you."
So who wants to jump in? What are we looking at here? Sorry these pictures aren't the greatest. I couldn't see the stupid LCD and the light wasn't good.

From what I can see under the snow, there isn't a lot of rust. The belts are pretty checked, but it looks like the tires might hold air, at least enough to get it home.

Based on illustrations I saw elsewhere, it appears to have the optional Scour-Clean attachment above the bin, which would be great where I'm working.

Can anybody tell me anything about this combine? There seem to be about six or seven models in existence. The header seemed to be about six feet wide. Are there lots of things to be wary of? Pitfalls, etc.? The reason I would like to go after this old girl is more than just nostalgia, although I freely admit that it's a factor :) About all the combining I would ever need to do would be 5-10 acres of oats as a cover for a hay crop. We can use the oats, obviously, and I'm told these old ACs rendered them cleanly, that they're simple to operate, and in my humble set up, it would be one less engine to maintain.

I hope the guy calls. We'll see. Keep your fingers crossed.

Don

Well, I spoke with the seller last night, and asked him about the unloading auger. His response was along the lines of "Whaddya mean it's not there? Maybe the little !@#$%& screwed me... but maybe I put it somewhere."
Hope springs eternal.
We're still up to our bahookies in snow, he'll be done working in the woods in 2 weeks, and I should have some free time then after we get tapped and running on syrup.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Hey, guys, If you look at the picture titled "Right," and look at the ground in front of the tire, there's a tube-like thing with what seems to look like a spout on the end nearest the tire. The other end seems to be behind that tall stick of burdock to the right of the forward point on the reel. It doesn't seem to be part of the draw bar. Could that be the unloading auger laying there, or is this wishful thinking?

If the unloading auger is not around the machine there, try the guys over on the Unfficial Allis Home page. They most likely could find one for you as well as helping with any questions you have.

Looks like you'll have to find an unloading auger somewhere. I use a 1940 Allis 60 on my 4 acres of soybeans and 4 acres of wheat every year. Great old machine. Very easy to set up and adjust to get good results. Only problem is I get done too soon.

Just heard from Tom Yaz that it's a model 90, as big as the pull type ACs got.

I'm pretty much amped :) I found this, and a Hew Holland 479 for under budget near home. New [to me] diesel tractor will have to wait, but that's okay. I can do everything I need to do between the 560 and the 9N, and trucks and team if need be :)

Louie, it looks to be in relatively good shape, at least based on paint. It also is auger feed, which is nice as you dont have canvas to tighten or keep from rotting like on 66 or 60. Grain conveyor doors rust out, which may need to be replaced... you can cut new ones from scrap steel or buy new. I would grease it up.. have fun with the 70 some fittings and it should run. Some bearings may go out though which can be replaced easily. Sickle might be good enough to cut too. I also would replace belts.. look to Yaz All Crop for parts.

It looks more like a 90 because of the extension behind the cyclinder. It has a wider threshing unit, and weighs more than the 72 but is about the same machine.

Model 72- note that it also has a Scour-Kleen grain cleaner on the grain tank. Even two models before that, on the 60, AC variable speed cylinder, while other mfgrs still had fixed chain drives. Could not easliy vary the speed throughout the day. Dad bought the 66 in "57, 72 came out later, has a wider pickup and header.

MMM, I am in Crandon, WI, in Forest County. That's in the north east corner of the state near Michigan's upper peninsula. The town is known for that infernal off-road buggy race, Brush Run or some such thing.

Well, the gentleman just called me, and $350 takes it away. He says he has screens for it, at least for alfalfa and oats. He doesn't know the model, but says it ran 4 years ago.

Woo Hoo!

That's a All-Crop Model 72. They were a pretty good combine in there day. As a matter of fact I recently made a deal on one in just the same shape right down to the snow cover. I am buying it for $200. Like you I don't know exactly what I'll have to put into it to get it running. But you can still get parts for them. Ther is 1 place below but if you search this forum for All Crop you'll find more.

Its a 90, not a 72. You can even make out the "90" on the decal on the rear shot. The round "hump" on the seperator chambers gives it away...
