Fair enough, an honest answer from an experienced person you can't ask for anything more. The main reason I was asking is I spent a lot of hours in an N-6 in it's early days and I knew if they got rid of a lot of some nagging little problems they had a winner especially running soybeans and corn never ran much wheat. The sucker on a no breakdown day could really shove an 8 row cornhead which was deere by the way that's why I asked about the new series cornhead. We ran a lot of popcorn and found the head was causing the most damage supported by our buyer that made you stop the machine and they checked every location. In those days running microwave popcorn got pretty involved so that's why we switched to the AF machines at the time because they were approved by the association and by the way our L3 passed because it was using the newer series AC830 cornhead not the A830. We ran over 1200acres of MPC which was a pretty good contract if you could stay under thier seed damage requirements. Thanks TDS I'm going to see if I can jump in an area farmers R-65 next harvest season and see if I can take it a couple rounds.

OK TDS, I'm going to ask the big question after an IH AF and a JD9610 what made you go with the Gleaner R65? I'm going to let you make your own comments with no opinions of my own. BTW I love the pic with you and your dad because that's what us dads love and that is our kids making thier own decsions and making it on thier own. CT

To start out with my dad was a john Deere combine man intel he ran a neighbors 1440 back in the 80s, he liked it so well he bought a 1460 then. When the Case IH dealer went to hell in town dad went back to John Deere and bought a 9610 new in 1999. I ran the old 95 combine for years and decided to get a bigger machine and i got along with the dealer in town so i bought a International 1460. The first year i went on wheat harvest i ran a Gleaner R-65 all year and fell in love with how they ran, the job they did, and how simple they where to work on. While i was cutting beans the fall i got home with my 1460 and it blew the motor and burned some, i rented a Gleaner to see how it would be in soybeans, I let my dad run the Gleaner in soybeans while i ran his 9610. He fell in love with them for the same reasons i did. So I bought the Gleaner i ran on harvest, dad sold his 9610 and bought another R-65, then my business got so much larger because i had bigger and better combines, i went out and bought a 3rd Gleaner R-65. We harvested over 4000 acres custom and 2000 of our own with the 3 combines this year and they preformed great. We are the only people in our area that run these new of Gleaners and when our neighbors test ran ours, they are gonna go out and buy one. Hope this helps yah on why i made my decision on Gleaners.
