Do most or all of you regular posters here on the combine forum know each other, other than through this forum? I get the impression that you do.

I"m a real geography nut and always think it would be nice that along with a picture or pictures posted you would include a general geography area like saying I"m in Central Nebraska or Eastern Illinois, etc. I"m not a farmer but live on a small acreage in retirement in Southern Minnesota and really enjoy the combine forum most of all on YT. yes i know mike Hunter we have a comon interest in old machines. His being a little one sided to combines mine includes a few tractors and implements.I like doing a little farming on the side I live in NE Ill. also

i have meant in-too-deep he is mostly on tractor talk. he bought my 68 ihc pickup and my trailer. i have talked to couple of other guys on phone one lives about 20-30 miles from me i hope he brings some of his ollie to a show i go to each year. i get e-mail from brown dirt cowboy once in awhile.

Russ Hamm is the only one here that I know personally. We live a couple miles from each other and are active in the same antique club. Russ is our resident thresherman expert during our annual show.

I havent met anyone on here except for the guys that I allready knew. I'm from central IL and I was wondering how many of you were at Rantoul IL. last August? Talk about a place to watch old machinery work, corn pickers, bean cutting, combines picking corn, plowing, hay making, corn shelling. Really neat and I just wondered if any of you were down there? bill

I don't personally know any of the other posters, but I did get to meet a posters family. He posted on here about some combines for sale, and I ended up buying them, He had a really nice family. I'm 21 and trying to slowly get started farming, so I have old combines to run, not collect. They're the only ones I can afford! lol. But I do enjoy seeing others saving combines. And it's even better when they post pictures of using them, as I enjoy old stuff.

Hey all don't know anyone personally. Been on here a little over a year. 1206 got me all fired up on these combines!!!!
I live straight west of chicago about 60 miles. Can see the glow quite well of that city at night. Wife is in the airforce in Georgia. My brother and I bought 20 acres of the 200 my grandparents had after they died. Story goes my great grandfather bought 3 farms for each of the sons, to keep them out of WWII. And the farms were willed to their kids so the sons couldn't sell the farms ever. Would have liked to met that man!!!!

I've been getting equipment for the last 4 years bought and running so when my wife retires in 2 years, we can get 80 acres or so to play with.

We just were able to get broadband out here now, so this site is alot more enjoyable. I'm 48 and grew up on a1000 acre grainfarm in Alexandria MN

in the 70's , on a 4020 and a 105JD combine.

Don't have to live close by to be neighbors I guess. Just a really nice place to spend these cold winter evenings chatting with friends you've never met. Rarely a post goes by where I don't learn something, or at least get a little chuckle. FAR more entertaining than that #@#@#@ TV. The pictures on here lately have really brought this site to life, Thanks to everyone who has contributed to making my winter a little warmer!! When I sit here reading this stuff, my wife will come by an say,
"Ya haints gots no class, Ya jest sit thar a grinnin like a cat sh!!tten glass"

I don't know anyone either, I live in Sw Okla. near Altus. I have 47 acres and my son and I rent more land.I have a 45 and 95 JD combines I am the service manager at local JD dealer. And will be 50 this year

I work at the John Deere at Frederick, I live half way between Altus and Frederick, I used to belong to the Great Plains tractor club at Hobart, I suggested the name Great Plains. Who is your relatives in Kiowa county?

Mostly just lurk on this very enjoyable site. 54 years old and live in SW Wisconsin. Don't know anyone personally. Live on a 16 acre hobby farm and work full time off the farm.

I"ve met 2-3. Jordan was posting a couple years ago, looking for a combine. Gave him some of my excess parts when I looked at his "new" machine. Met Phil at a local show, and he visited our farm on his way back to St. Cloud. Know another by phone who"s coming to look at my F2 when it"s ready to sell. Very enjoyable visits.

I did forget one thing and that is I really enjoy seeing young people taking an interest in restoring the old machines like 71Ford100 I think his name is Lance because after all if not for them our efforts of our restoration will wind up in some scrapyard and the legacy is gone forever. CT

TDS is quite young,maybe not even 20?He may come on here and tell us.He is also from the Show Me State.

Ron, I'll be 59 this year and own and live on a 380 acre grain farm which is located 100 miles south of KC,MO.I decided to quit farming and have rented out the farm for 2008.I work a very demanding full time job at 3M and trying to do both was leaving me worn out.

I once owned 125 antique tractors but sold them all in the mid 1980's..I did buy (2) WK-40 McCormick tractors in 2007 to go along with (20) old SP combines that I started collecting in late 2005.

I have lots of old SP combines to haul home this year and will be on the road alot out in Kansas and Oklahoma.I also need to be working on my new combine shed.

I like tractors from the 1960's and have a 1967 1206 Farmall,1970 1456 Farmall,1961 460 Farmall,1965 Series II D-21 Allis,1967 Oliver 1950 that I do some pulling with,1967 MM G-1000 Vista wheatland,1650 Oliver,and a 1977 6030 JD.I used to have a 1966 1206 Farmall but sold it.

In 2007 I ran in to Russ Hamm several times at tractor shows at Goessel and Ft Scott,KS.Hes a real nice guy and one of these days Russ I'll come by and see your collection.

Curtis Rink posts on here once in a blue moon and I bought my S MM combine from him.I've known him since 1985.

It seems like I know lots of you but have never met very many of you.I will be showing my lever steer 91 IH combine at the 2008 Red Power Show in June at Columbia,MO.If any of you are there come by and say hello,I might just let you take the 91 for a spin.

ITG, I will be there from Thursday noon until mid Saturday afternoon.I will probably take the 91 IH thru the parade each day.I dont think that there will be any wheat to cut.I hope that others will bring some red combines. At Red Power in July 2002 at Penfield,ILL they had wheat to cut.

No I don't know any of you out their, but had the MH35 out for wheat harvest here in Lake Co. ILL. the Fred and Dennis MH Show, and the Rantaul Show this year in the bean feild, got my picture into the show book a couple a times. Just got back with my latest addition a IH 91, Unloading was fun.Their will be an improvement made to my unloading ramps. Lever steer is is a handful at times. Early style zero turn.

I agree with what another poster said. I think it seems like everybody knows eachother on the forum because of the common love for old machinery.

I have never met anyone from the forums but 55 50 would probably the closest. We have probably attended some of the same shows around S MN.

I have a '73 JD 6600 Diesel, A/C, Hydro, Straw Chopper. Also just purchased a '79 JD 6620 for $2500 which will be used next fall, the 6600 will by reduced to "standby" status.

I for one don't know anyone on here personally but I have had a few e-mail conversations with some of them. I think we all seem to have a common bond either our love of combines or tractors or whatever and I've gotten a lot of help from the wealth of knowledge on here usually from someone who says "I've been there done that" I also think the one thing we all share and that's our love of farming! I really enjoy the custom cutters pictures and thier stories and 1206's combine pictures and knowledge. Oops, can't leave out Allen in NE. I'm in south central Ohio.
