It sounds like the Gary Phillips Estate sale at Bridgeport,NE is back on for early April.Aumann's had the sale scheduled for June but then got it took away from them.Kruse has it now which is a step backwards.

Its says along with 2500 tractors there will be 250 combines.Has anyone on here ever been there and seen the combines? Are there any real old ones?

My MIL has been to Garys but I never have.

most of the combines are parts and most are in the 1970 and 1980 years but there are many that go into the 50's a few early masseys 27-92 and deeres 55-95 if the auction ever goes it will be too big they need to have several auctions over a couple of years not a week long event.Paul

After the last Aumann auction I attended, but I've adopted a new slogan as regards auction companies----"Anybody But Aumann". His fixation with Internet auctions, and "buyers premiums" have totally turned me off, plus the fact that at least on JD stuff, he doesn't have a clue. Kruse isn't much better, but I'm delighted to see it got taken away from Aumann. I won't attend an Aumann auction, period.

I really liked aumann before they started the buyers premium. Nixon is okay, but i thought that aumann got more money for stuff from what i could see. At the nixon auctions i went to, it was all about blasting through and getting done in record time. I'll stick to buying from individuals or small auctions, buyers premiums are for the rich folks.

Nixon from NE is about the best auctioneer for the old stuff. He has no admission fee and no 10% buyers premium.

I was to a K----- auction at Herrington,KS in 1976 where he sold a big collection of antique tractors..He got caught pulling ghost bids out of the crowd and a huge argument started. They say he did a terrible job on the huge Dome Valley Auction last March in Arizona.I will not attend one of his auctions.

With all the problems at Bridgeport,NE it will surprise me if the auction is held in April. Its been a topic of discussion lately on lots of forums.

I know one of the guys involved in the Gary Phillips estate, and I think you're right, there's not going to be any auction in April. I've never been to a Kruse auction, but I've heard enough bad stories that I don't ever plan on attending one. Big ego and completely clueless about what he's selling. I talked to several people who were at the Yuma sale, they said Nixon or Polk could have gotten twice as much money as Kruse did, the whole thing was a complete mess, none of the auction crew had the first clue on most of it.

I havent been there for a couple of years but it seems like most of the combines were late 1960's to early 80's models

This is huge! 2500 tractors would take a week to sell, Is this all planned and ready to go?

Kind of, go over to the general topic and search "bridgeport". Gary's estate is rather complicated, the inventory and land was sold in the late 90's, that guy failed to pay, was sued and lost, filed bankruptcy, bankruptcy was thrown out, don't know exactly how Gary got the business back, appeal of lawsuit was filed, Gary passed on, his wife contracted with Auman's to sell it, violated the contract by selling the whole inventory to someone, who then contracted Kruse to do the auction, there will be litigation to sort out, and that won't happen by April...

No but I sure would like to go but I don't think the University would excuse this.
