For all the collectors out there, I'm curious, what is the parts avalibility on the older combines, specificially on machines such as the 300-410-510 Masseys, 03 and 15 series IH, John Deere 45-105 through 00 series combines, Gleaners, and the like. I want some of the older combines to run, but parts avalibilty worries me. Are some of the MAJOR components, i.e. straw walkers, rasp bars, threshing parts, etc. avalible new or easily fabricated? Hate the used route because of parting combines and the fact that you never have a good idea of condition. All replies welcome.

I loaded a IH 403 today that is going to the scrap yard next saturday morning. If anyone need anything speak now. I have one more 403 and a Massey 300 that will go as the weather and time allows. Ken

There are still salvage yards with lots of older combines.Mikes at Buhler,KS has about 2000 combines with lots going back to the late 1950's.Some still have some nice parts on them.

Howards at Mt Hope,KS has new Massey parts clear back to the 1940's.They were once a huge Massey dealer.

Wait until I put pictures of Spring River Salvage on here.

Some new parts are being phased out for the older combines.

...I'm about 40 miles from Savannah on the SC side of the river and collect Gleaners. I am not aware of any salvage yards in Georgia, but there is one here in Bishopville, owned by Abeline Machinery/Baker salvage. They seem to have a nice collection of old parts combines. On their website, when their salvage yard pictures were up, there were some early model Gleaners, including an A, A2 and some EIIIs. I also saw quite a few IH and MH, although I am not as good identifying those.
