engine is from a model 45 combine with s/n 49241-H. Engine had nearly 0 compression in 2 cylinders #2 and #3, I opened it and it had burnt valves. I need the equivalent for parts since this engine model does not pop-up in the j-d parts catalog. I also need rebuilding info like head bolt torque, rod bolt torque, valve lash... engine serial number is 096689T

thanks Michel
I have pictures of the engine if needed

One more time, here are facts instead of some of the guesses posted below. Your engine is a 180 cubic inch engine, also known as the 180 Power Unit. It shares all major parts in common with the gasoline engines used in 2020 and 2510 Tractors. The parts catalog for this engine is PC1022, and can be obtained from John Deere by calling 800-522-7448. There should be a Technical Manual for these engines, as well, but I can't find the number for it, but I've seen one and know they exist. They will give you the torque specs and all the information you need. If that's not available, the specifications for the 2020 or 2510 tractor engines are the same as for your combine engine.

I don"t have enough on Deere to stick in your eye, but, FWIW, under 45 combine a 79 Fel-Pro catalog shows Herc JX4C3, JD 145G and JD 165G, all 4cyl"s, but I don"t have any b/s for any of them, and can"t tell you how to ID any. No years are shown, altho another catalog shows the JD engines in th early-mid 60"s.
Parts catalogs are notoriously incomplete, and the above may be completely different engines. Good luck.

It's a 180 Power Unit, the Parts Catalog is PC1022 This is basically the same engine used in 2020 and 2510 tractors with gasoline engines, so the specs for the tractor engines should be the same, and any JD dealer should be able to help you with that.

If that's a JD engine it would be a HA145; the same engine as in a 2010.

An HA-145 is NOT the same engine as used in a 2010, it's a parent-bore engine. An HC-145 is the first of the sleeve-and-deck style engines as used in the 2010's.
