Does any body know how to slow the reel speed down.I've tried the obvious of moving the belt over to the next groove, but there is only two grooves and not a nickels worth of difference. It is a 10'bat reel with out a varible speed option.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Keith

As I recall on the C we ran it had two pulleys on the upper on the upper back on the end of the header. We would loosen the belt and switch pullies. One pulley was about 6 inches and the other was 12 so there was a big change in speed.

tried that and it already is such a small pully that it made almost no difference. I just read tha manual again and I am just aas confused as before. Oh well thge fix I used works good so who cares at this point.

Had the same problem. See my link for a picture of my fix and a YOUtube video. Basically I went and bought a 12" pully to replace the small one and that slowed it down. Tried it yesterday and It seems a lot more reasonable now. The manual talks about and adjustment but after reading it a few times it still made NO sense to me at all.

My experience is with a Gleaner header with hyd variable speed, but....

From your pic, doesn't the bottom small pulley screw together or apart to change the diameter of it?
