Dear friends:
Iam new in business. My business partner has experience in rice and corn but not in combines.

I´m trying to buy a 8820 JD combine for corn and rice to import to Central America.

One guy want $7950.00 Do you think is a good price? The combine need some repairs aprox ($2000,00). In our contry the labor hand is cheap.

In your opinion wich headers i have to buy for good to max performance (flexible for rice and a corn header 6 or 8 rows?)?. And, have you an idea for a good price for each one? All models of rice and corn headers match in the 8820 or only the headers from year 1980 to 1990?

Rigt now we own a 7720 here in our country but we need another one and we want a 8820.

Thank you for any help.

It could be cheap at $7950 if its in decent condition or way too high if its totally worn out.The $2,000 it needs spent on it could easily turn in to $10,000 or more.Alot of 8820's in corn and rice country are mostly all worn out.

There were several; 8820's in my area and they ran from 20' to 30' grain headers and they played with an 8 row corn head.

I would go with an 8820 JD from wheat country as not all of them are worn out. However it wont have a spike tooth cylinder for rice.
