Pull-type combine for soybeans...how wide of cutters did they have? Only need to harvest 20-30 acres a year. Would pull with an Allis 200. If I work up a spot that was farmed years ago I will need to cross a bridge that is 17' wide. I might look for a small combine with cab. What price range would buy a small pull combine or cabbed unit. Tnaks mnjoe

I got an Allis Chalmers 72, its 6' cut, has done well in every crop I've used it in. Just wish I could find another one that wasn't worn out.

You say the Model 72 is a six foot cut- makes me wonder if I've been posting wrong. Dad had a 60, then 66. I suppose I could go to the woods and measure my 66,..... ...and find the model number is the inch width of the header?!!! BTW- I might know of someone with a Model 72- if you want me to check with him- let me know.

I had a John Deere 42 pull type with a 9 foot cut and it worked well in soybeans. They have a narrow transport width because the header raises high and the tongue swings under it.

Few hundred bucks should get you a Model 66 AC- six foot wide pickup. Rubber shelling is easy on the beans.

The allis all crops will get down to the ground real good for beans. Some of the early self propelleds i wonder about. My 91 is poor on cutting close to the ground.
