What the manual doesn't tell you

If you happen to drag an auger into the thicket on say a JD 9400 you can remove that section of tube and auger and gather the last 80 acres or so of your crop. You will have to get closer to the truck and it probably won't work with anything wider than a 6 row narrow. It isn't ideal of course, but it isn't as bad as you might think-you have a great view down into the truck. I wish I had pictures-so you all could staple them into the back of your manuals.

Thank you.

A decade ago I remembered the 2 electric poles, went around them. Something was bugging me a bit later - oh yea, that tree - isn't there something I should be thinking about with this tree????

Didn't hurt too much on the Gleaner, could pound the latch back into place with a big hammer.

That's a nice thing about the K, F, etc. Gleaner before they came with the hydraulic auger. Had a breakaway latch on the auger so if you forgot to go CCW on the first round in a field, it would pop the auger back without breaking it off, if you came up to a power pole.

I wasn't so lucky either a few years ago it cost $400 or so to get it straightened plus the time to remove and install. Tom
