He's going to break the back axle among other things, but all it would take, is for the combine to lose balance--and it will fall first, toward RH side. If he is thrown from the cab, and the machine falls on him, he may just earn his Darwin Award!

I swear some people just take up air.

Looks like good clean fun. I love old combines, but some are destined for scrap iron; might as well have a little fun before they go to China as steel.

Brad, there's no excuse just to be so mean and cruel to something like that, either. It just goes right along with all the you know what about those cursed demolition derbies. Just cut it up, crush it--or LEAVE IT ALONE!!! There's no excuse to "have fun" at the cost of abuse!

These are inatimate objects we are talking about, you realize. You have a passion for this subject, but putting cold hard steel on the same plane as living objects is misguided.

You will argue with me I know. When it comes right down to it what is more important, an individual human being that has a soul; or a piece of iron that man put together. You speak of a person as just taking up air, i.e. worthless; while mourning the object that he is driving. I would argue that man is of immeasurable more value than the iron he is so called abusing.

I agree, Brad. The point I made is really more about how he CHOSE to be so stupid, worthless and an air/space user.

Still, there is a big difference in how we can "put down" unusable or even just unwanted combines.

He is on pretty level ground, so I doubt that it's likely to tip sideways. Better chance of him falling out and having a runaway machine. Just another idiot burning fuel for no reason, pushing the cost of it up for those of us who need it.

Must be Lanse, moving up to bigger toys. ;)

Getting practice in for a combine demo derby. They expect the rear wheels to go away, so they like a machine that about balances on the main axle. Surprised he can get it to pop wheelies with that light of a header, musta taken a lot of weight off the back somewhere.

My Gleaner with the 4 row wide head got real light in back too, one spot on the driveway/field road I would back down....

I have done this (not as severe and not on purpose) with our ole Gleaner F and a 4 row corn head on. It had hydrostat drive and if you slowed down too fast it would up end. I made a weight bracket on the back axle and hung 600 pounds on and stopped that foolishness.
