Does anyone have info on the owner of the Reeves 40-65 in Kansas or info on parts for the twin city engine it uses? We"re in the beginning stages of rebuilding ours up in North Dakota.

Mike

Glad you could make it to our show and thanks for sharing the pictures. It would have been nice to meet you there; maybe next year. The 1.5 inch rain that hit Goessel Friday morning pretty much shut down a lot of the field demonstrations we normally do. It also made enough mud to keep several more large prairie tractors in the owner's shed a half mile from the show grounds. We have had up to 10 or 11 there at the show in other years. Our wheat crop was pretty dismal too (like everybody else around here) so we did not run the big Aultman Taylor you show above. Sunday afternoon we did belt up the Rumley thresher to the Oil Pull. That single cylinder really sounded neat when under load.

Thanks again for sharing the pictures.

That's great that you had the chance to see the rest of his collection. It is a special treat for our show to have so many of these giants available for display. Jerry does an impressive job restoring these rigs and is generous in making them available for folks to see. That Pioneer especially is quite a sight.

Hope you can make it next year. If next year's weather is more typical, we won't have the mud to deal with and will be able to run some field demonstrations.

Single cylinder rumely owned by Mike Wurm. They threshed with it running on kerosene and water injection.

Actually, the rumely would only turn the allis over at 900 rpm max, and we could have used 100 more to really move straw quicker. But it made a real nice display, and pitchin slower is way better on a guy.

When we had 900 rpm cylinder speed, Mike tached the Rumely at 300 rpm which was about as high as he wanted to go. The engine was rated for 375 rpm, but 300 was probably enough for a 90+ year old machine. Like you said, the sound of that 900+ cubic inch single cylinder under load was great.
