When I was I high school on one of the rare times that I was able to take the truck to town,(somehow I always ended up running the combine while my Dad took the load to town) the elevator man looked at the clean grain was surpised we had a Gleaner. They had a bad rap about doing a poor job cleaning. My Dad took the time to set it right and trained me to run it right. Every machine will do a poor job if it is set to do a poor job.

Years ago (about 20) I was told the same type of thing when I took soybeans to local elevator. The guy at the elevator told me that the beans were better cleaned and had less damage than most with brand new mashines. My combine at the time was just an old E Gleaner. If you take the time to set it right you should be able to make most any combine do a good job.

I clean my seed wheat with my 750 Massey instead of fanning mill. Just run it through by dropping it on top front of sieve. Turn wind way up and let her go. Quite of comotion to get it all set up on cement platform but can clean 200 bushels in about 10 minutes. Usually if you are getting a real clean sample in tank you are leaving some in field.

Yes setting your combine is important. When we got our new 8010 last year it was off just a little, but was an easy set. And got better than average results.
