Sheet metal repair on an AC66

I've got a couple of holes in the sheet metal where the grain falls on my AC66. Most of the metal is good except for the couple of holes. Is there a good way to repair it? I think brazing a patch on is out of the question as the metal on an AC66 is paper thin when it was new.

Are talking about the grain pan? I got a very nice used one if interested.

I carry a roll of duct tape on the combine. Plugges leakes until you have time to fix it right.Lots of options on flat tin, but on augers, I always took a old 5 gal herbicide can and cut to fit and pop rivet or sheet metal screws to fasten on with. Hard to find a metal can nowdays, sometimes I find one at work and grab onto it. Years ago, I would go to a heating and air shop and buy a sheet of galvanized metal and take home and cut out whatever size I needed. Chris

If the repair doesn't need to look pretty, I have used fiberglass (repair kits, like are used to patch auto bodies) to patch holes on my combines. Easy to apply, conforms to any shape, dries quick, and lasts a long time. I try to put the patch on the outside of whatever is being repaired, if possible. Crude, but effective.

Pop rivets and 16 guage sheet metal. Works slick.

I have always used brazing on thin metal but if you aren't comfortable with that then depending on the size of the holes maybe JB Weld would work. Might need something underneath to hold it until it dries. Not sure what part of the combine you are fixing.
