Would any of you reccomend a cat tractor or combine? The tractor would have to have row-crop abilities, be able to pull 25ft drill, chisel plow, field finisher,12 row planter,12 row cultivator, and possibley accomidate saddle tanks. The combine would prefferabley be a rotary, be able to use a 25 foot flex head, and a 6 row 30in. corn head. I have a total of 1250+- acres.

Through the Caterpillar website, I was able to get a nice brochure on it in the mail.

If You want to buy a caterpillar combine, You can also choose a Claas, it is the same machine and the original, because caterpillar will be build by claas, an out of my experience I can say Claas is one of the best combinbes in the world. There are a lot of old Matador, Mercator and Senator working in my area, it is like the Mercedes under the combines! regards

Like I said in the other post. Ask your cat dealer to demonstrate the combine at your farm or try to operate one before you buy a combine so that you can get a feel and expereince on the machine. Maybe you should just get a cat combine anyway and silence the mudsluggers.

A Gleaner R72 will keep stride with the biggest Cat and cost much less. I've seen it with my own eyes. But 1250 acres would never justify either one of them.
