To 1206SWMO; i noticed your picture over on tractor talk of your Vista G1000 driving down that gravel road, just wondering if you could post a picture of your Vista either on tractor photos or this board, i just like seeing all the different configurations moline built there tractors to, seems like theres no two the same. My dad and i each have Vista G1000 diesels, his is a wheatland and mine is row crop, but each has different water pumps, wheels and hydraulics. We also have several other molines from the late 60's. Noticed yours must have the intake breather on the side of the hood or something looks different anyway. Those were good pictures of that long road two years apart, thanks for your time.

one of the best tractor pulls i ever saw was won by a g 1000 with a lp turbo. tractor looked like guy brought it right out of field. people laughed when he backed up to sled. all the others were waxed and shined that mo was dirty and had oil leaks. he had a plywood sign on it that said power without smoke lp turbo. if she blows she blows. she didn't blow. he revved it up and dumped the clutch and away we go. the guy finally shut it down as he ran out of track. when the box hit the top he never slowed down.

Heres the right side. The owner put an oil bath air cleaner on it.I have another hood side panel and the correct air cleaner for it.It has a PTO but no 3pt hitch.

It was driven 300 miles home from Minneapolis,KS in April 2004.

Check Out This Dandy G-1000 LP Tractor in reply to 1206SWMO, 03-13-2007 17:13:40

The guy I bought the Vista Wheatland diesel from had this dandy late model G-1000 Wheatland LP with factory cab.A little over $3000 would have bought this one and it was A-1.

This was one of about 7-8 MM's that he bought off one farm in the WaKeeney,KS area.

I'd almost bet those Minnies were originally sold by Billinger Repair in Park KS. He was a well known MM dealer about 30 miles West of WaKeeney. He still has a few parts tractors sitting on his lot.

A friend had two G1000 LP tractors. He would ask me to tune them up because I had propane carburation experience, and the local diesel mechanics would run from the sight of anything propane powered.
What always impressed me about the G1000 LP was when you got the ignition system in good shape, and carefully tuned the barrel valve to get the idle mixture just right, the huge rotating mass of that big 6 cyl propane engine would roll over absolutly electric motor smooth at idle. :-)
