This decent old 915 IH is still in use on a river bottom farm NE of Rich Hill,MO.Its one of the last running 915's in the area.In the 500 year flood of 1986 it would have been totally under water. It rained 25" in the 1st week of October.

One 915 sits unused about 8 miles from me.He has a 1206 wheatland tractor thats sat in the shed for years.

My Missouri map shows a river named Marais des Cygnes. Is that the river bottom area you mentioned? Must be a French-named river.

I live in south central Minnesota and just returned from a trip to visit family in Indiana. I like to travel the back roads and was amazed at what a person can see in old combines if you specifically watch for them. Most are outside because of their size. John Deere, Gleaner, and IHC were those that I saw. Old collector tractors are not nearly so visible. One old tractor that did catch my eye was mounted on top of an old cement silo. It was a "G" John Deere on a silo just east of Momence, Illinois on the south side of highway 114. Has anyone else seen that? Took a mighty big crane to get that job done!

55 50:

Yes, actually, that's my father's farm outside Momence with the tractor on the silo. He hired a crane to put it on there sometime in the mid-90's. Kind of neat to see people talking about it.

55-50,yes,this is the Marias des Cynges river bottom about 3 miles NE of Rich Hill,MO.Just a few miles down stream the Little Osage and Marmaton rivers join in and it becomes the Osage River the rest of the way thru MO.

I travel the back roads all I can.You can sure see lots more old stuff on them..
