One of my newest acquisitions - much to my wife's dismay. I bought this International 615 with an 824 2 row side corn head. This baby has quick-tach, variable cylinder, variable fan, electronic monitor, and AC! Had to be the cadillac of small combines for it's day. I was looking for a small 810 grain head for it but everybody wants an arm and a leg for them. Though i'd share it with you guys since you all seem to appreciate them as much I do.

 I have 2 615's in reply to MarkBowl, 01-11-2007 17:30:37
Both were used in 2005 harvest, but not this year. One has a 3 row and one has a 2 row corn head, both have 13 foot bean heads. Mark, that quick-tach 800 series 615 is harder to find than the others. I know of one not far from here that is a quick-tach hydro.

Nice looking old 615.A close neighbor ran one for years before parking it in the early 90's.It was pretty sad and went for scrap a couple of years ago. There never were very many 615's in this area but there were tons of 715's.

810 heads are getting real cheap in my area.$250-400 will buy a nice one for a 715.

Yup, she's a gasser. Wish it was a diesel but for all the more i'm gonna use it for. I originally thought it might be too rough to save cause it's been outside for a while, but it appears to be a late model unit. The seperator is in suprisingly good shape. No noises, bad bearings, etc. Heck, none of the slip clutches or belts squealed when I engaged the seperator. Even with a bunch of petrified old cobs left in there. I've probably got about 20a of beans/corn to run through her. The only hitch maybe that i've got some relatively hilly land and it's awfully narrow and high. I've got land 2 places about 40 miles apart, one hilly, one flat. Maybe i'll just take it to the flat land. I've got an International 105 that is probably more suited to the hilly ground.

Nice look"en 615 and good luck with the wife, maybe take her a ride??LOL I have never figured out why the 6-915 IHCs were not more popular? The B-in-law had some and they were reliable peformers that put a clean sample in the tank but they sure get trash talked a lot.

I worked with a custom harvester who ran a couple of 915s for a couple of years. He said that they just didn't hold up to the job. It seems that he had some constant problems with them like maybe overheating and it seems that he had a certain bearing that was constantly going out. It has been 30 years plus since that conversation so I don't remember the particulars. He switched to 7700 John Deeres and got along fine with them. It reminds me of a neighbor back in Kansas who had a 1800 New Holland combine. He really liked the machine except for a shaft in the feederhouse. Every year you would drive by his shop and see that combine with the feederhouse off and torn down. It doesn't matter how good the machine is, if it has one weak point that takes time and money to fix repeatedly it is better to get a different machine.

I'm not sure what a "side corn head" is! Certainly not what I meant to say. Here's another pic while i'm at it!
