I recieved a Kruse auction catalog today with a 3 day sale of antique tractors. In it there is a MH 35, super 26 and 27, sp clipper, pull type clipper, i think a 21-canvas type, a sp waterloo combine and a round tank massey sp combine. The auction is in Yuma Arizona March 2,3,4. All I have to say is wow to the amount of stuff on this sale.

Did you see the fees associated with this auction?

$10 general admission fee
$20 Bidders registration fee
Buyers fee of 5% Internet buyers fee of 10%

My opinion is that just kills this auction.

The day all auctions start charging admission and having buyers premiums is the day that I quit going to auctions.Pretty soon only the very wealthy will even be able to attend auctions.

Agree with you 100% on that. Would think the auctioneer would make enough off of that sale with just his regular commission let along charge all the rest of those fees. Seems pretty greedy to me.

The big auction companies are getting very greedy! Kruse is far from broke. They are trying to do to the old tractor auctions like what they have done to the collector car auctions such as the Barrett-Jackson one in AZ.They cater to the very wealthy.

I remember the good old days of tractor collecting when anyone could afford one.No paying to get in to auctions back then!I watched a running 30-60 Aultman Taylor tractor sell for $5500 at Muskogee,OK in May 1978.I could have afforded it but a good friend wanted it so I didnt bid.

Hi 1206,
i know EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN ABOUT THOSE AUCTION,S,
I was at a barrett jackson one about 9 yrs ago, and all it is is a bunch of stupid hype for people that have nothing better to do than suck up well drink,s and bid on this junk that,s so overpriced it,s pathetic,
I mean muscle car,s?
big deal that,s not even my area of want, anyway, and they charge for bidder,s ticket, and it,s all really a stuck up feeling atmosphere,
I watch it sometime,s on speed channell , but I like other thing,s better like older farm machinery anyway, and I see alot of older drill,s and plow,s in different place,s too,
I know what you mean though, It,s no fun to even go anymore cause of this dumb overpriced value thing,
Kirk,

I have a friend that is/was a Kruse employee. I mentioned my displeasure with admission and buyers fee just a few minutes ago concerning this very auction. Buyers fee's seems to be more prevalent in the auto auction arena. Kruse is primarily an auto auctionee, so..... .

If only money were no obstical.....
